Key Responsibilities:Cost Analysis:Examining and analysing costs associated with business operations.Budgeting and Forecasting:Collaborating with other departments to develop budgets and forecasts based on cost analysis to help the business to plan for future expenses and set realistic financial goals.Variance Analysis:Investigating and explaining the differences between planned and actual costs, identifying the reasons for discrepancies and providing insights to management to help control costs.Process Improvement:Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement by working with departments to streamline processes and eliminate unnecessary expenses.Financial Reporting:Providing accurate and timely cost-related information for financial statements and reports. This involves working closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Cost Control:Developing and implementing strategies to control costs and maximise profitability. This may involve recommending changes to business processes, negotiating with suppliers, or finding ways to optimise resource utilisation.Compliance:Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations and stay informed about changes in accounting rules and make adjustments to practices as necessary.Decision Support:Assisting management in making informed decisions by providing cost-related insights. This could involve evaluating the financial impact of different business strategies or investment decisions.Use segment analysis to provide insight and projections, as well as harnessing analytics software e.g. PMS such as infoOther Responsibilities:Reconcile trade payable agingPost payroll journal into PAYE, PSA and pensionAttend PandL reviews with hotels team and GMsFinalise cost forecast with GM and Cluster teamReview accuracy of invoices from procurement PW/Adecco into NetSuiteFull ownership of Procure to pay ("P2P") processSkills and Qualifications:Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPointAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.Demonstrable experience of building complex reports in Excel.Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or studying towards recognised accounting qualification with at least five years experienceExperience of developing and completing analysis projectsExperience presenting analysis and driving actions from insightsKnowledge of using Netsuite or Fairmas or any relevant reporting toolAttention to detail, taking ownership for accuracy of outputAbility to work to tight deadlines and prioritise work effectivelyExcellent communication skills and organised, with attention to detailGood understanding of hospitality commercial analysis and statisticsExposure to Hospitality industry will be beneficialExperience of creating, recording, maintaining controls and governance eg P2P (procure to pay), R2R (record to report) and O2C (order to cash)At the Sutton Hotel Collection, we are an inclusive, natural, generous, ethical and diverse group of people, we celebrate human relationships and kinship.
