Overview
Project Manager within the Advisory Division, Environment and Water Portfolio (ENW), supporting the delivery of water and wastewater construction projects. You will manage the full project lifecycle, engage with stakeholders, and ensure governance and quality standards are met.Location
Locations include: Birmingham, Bristol, London, Reading, Southampton, Cambridge, Cardiff, Sheffield.What You Will Contribute To The Team
Delivery on time within cost and to stated quality standardsEmbed sustainability principlesEffective health, safety and wellbeing management on the projectDeliver within internal and client governance tolerancesCoordinate and manage contract requirements (NEC) relating to design solutions, construction and commissioningCollaborate with the Technical lead to ensure excellence in Health and Safety in designCapture cost efficiencies during pre-construction without compromising scopeTake the project to the Investment Committee and manage capital allocation through the lifecycleManage expenditure and overall project cost through governanceEnsure effective communication with the supply chain and procurementFollow change control processes for time, cost, and quality changesActive stakeholder management to clarify requirements and maintain involvement in key decisionsIdentify, allocate, and manage project risks and opportunities with mitigation measuresMeet commercial objectives with timely reporting and information deliveryMaintain excellent communications with the client and programme teamManage the project programme with multidisciplinary delivery teamsResponsibilities
Lead project delivery across appraisal, planning, detailed design, construction and delivery phasesEnsure governance, safety, and quality across the project lifecycleEngage with clients and stakeholders to align on objectives and prioritiesProvide leadership in delivery strategy and Health and Safety in designCoordinate with procurement and contract management for NEC-based design and constructionRequired For The Position Of Project Manager
A degree in engineering or project/construction managementA relevant professional qualification, preferably APMFull Membership or working towards membership of a relevant chartered body (e.g., MAPM, MCIWEM, MICE, MCIOB, MRICS)Project management experience across multiple disciplines; contract/procurement experienceExperience applying contracts terms in practiceExcellent written and oral communicationAbility to foster collaborative working relationshipsWillingness to travel to client sites 2–3 times per week, with potential overnight staysPreferred But Not Essential
Experience in the water sector, environment and regulated industriesExperience working on the client side for utilities companiesExperience using NEC contractsAbout The Business Unit
