Lewisham College, part of the NCG college group, is looking for enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our team and support our 16–18-year-old learners with a range of learning difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to help young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve their goals as they prepare for their futures.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students in the classroom and during learning activities. You’ll play a key role in helping learners develop independence, engage with their studies and succeed in a supportive and inclusive environment.

You will be working with students who may have a variety of learning needs, so patience, empathy and strong communication skills are essential.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about supporting young people with additional learning needs
• Patient, positive, and encouraging
• Able to build strong relationships with students and staff
• Committed to helping learners achieve their full potential

Essential requirements:

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Experience working with young people or young adults with learning difficulties

• Role: Learning Support Assistant
• Location: Lewisham College
• Contract: Fixed term – 1 year
• Start Date: September 2026
