Key Purpose Of JobThe Sub-system design engineer role involves owning a mission technical solution, design, and integration of various modules into the satellite.Key TasksUnderstand the mission requirements and then derive sub-system requirementsDefine the OBDH (on board data handling) sub-system architecture and interfaces to other sub-systemsUpdate existing FPGA designs, and create new FPGA IP cores, against the mission requirementsGeneration of appropriate design documentationWork closely in a core project team, providing technical support to project managers, suppliers, and customersResponsible for the delivery of all aspects of the defined/delegated package of work which includes, Technical Solution, Budget and ScheduleExperienceExperience of system level design in either the satellite industry or equivalentSeveral years experience of FPGA design using VHDLSeveral years experience of digital board level designKnowledge and SkillsKnowledge of FPGAsKnowledge of Lab Test EquipmentExcellent communication skillsCommitment to deliver to challenging schedulesGood inter-personal skillsOrganised approachGood planning skillsBenefitsHighly competitive SalaryFlexible working policies32 days annual leave
