Taking control of this, Ark MandE provides a complete mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) solution for large complex residential projects. We require a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Technical team at our head office in Borehamwood.Role and Responsibilities

The design and detail modelling of a variety of suite components in order to meet the programme requirementsManaging and meeting cost and weight targetsCommunicating effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers, translating technical informationParticipating in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction processThe selection and application of materials and processes appropriate to each design elementEnsuring the successful integration of each design element with the product as a wholeChecking engineering packagesGenerating and/or revising specificationRequirements

Demonstrable experience and knowledge/qualifications in Mechanical Building Services Engineering designAutodesk CAD and Microsoft Office packagesExperience of site works including mechanical condition surveys and snagging/inspection during construction works, experience of commissioning witnessingExperience in specification writing (NBS or NES type) would be beneficialExperience in thermal modelling/EPC assessment would be beneficialExperience of sustainable design solutionsKnowledge and application of Building Regulations (Part L, Part F etc.) and appropriate British Standards (heating, natural gas, pipework systems etc.)Knowledge of RIBA Plan of Work/BSRIA Building Services Design Framework processAbility to manage workload of multiple projects and prioritise workloadWorking as part of a team or autonomouslyWriting and verbal communicationsAnalyising and problem solvingMembership of professional engineering institution (CIBSE/IMechE/IET) – preferred but not essential. We will support candidates looking to progress to CEng/IEng or EngTech levelSeniority level
