Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (or someone with a real passion for supporting children with additional needs) looking for a long-term role where you can truly make a difference?
We''re currently working with a welcoming and supportive school in Nelson who are preparing for their new intake of pupils starting in September 2026. - Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support individual learning plans
- Helping pupils settle into school routines and build confidence
- Creating a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
This will be a long-term role starting in September 2026, with a strong possibility of a permanent contract further down the line for the right person.
Trials
Although the role doesn''t start until September 2026, the school is keen to invite suitable candidates in for trials as soon as possible. This gives you the chance to get to know the team and the setting, and for the school to ensure the right fit for their pupils.

- Has experience working with children with SEN and EHCPs (school-based preferred)
- Is patient, nurturing and genuinely passionate about supporting children

Why Apply?
- Join a school that truly values its support staff
