Corporate Financial Accountant Based in London, hybridInside IR35 We are seeking a skilled and motivated Corporate Financial Accountant to support the Chief Accountant in delivering high-quality financial reporting, compliance and continuous improvement across the Council.As Corporate Financial Accountant, you will lead on the production of the Council''s annual Statement of Accounts, ensuring full compliance with the latest regulations, audit standards and best practice guidance. You will take ownership of balance sheet management throughout the year, driving improvements to financial processes and supporting the transition towards more timely and automated year-end reporting.Key Responsibilities include: Lead the preparation and delivery of the Council''s annual Statement of Accounts, ensuring compliance with current accounting standards and audit requirementsManage and reconcile balance sheet accounts throughout the yearComplete accurate and timely statutory and statistical returns, including submissions to Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), Government departments and revenue-related returns such as the RO and Quarterly Revenue UpdateMaintain strategic oversight of the Council''s debtor position, including consolidation of management information and provisions for bad debtsProduce, consult on and agree Support Service Charges with budget managers at both budget-setting stage and year-endAct as the Council''s nominated contact with HM Revenue and
