Hydrographic Surveyor Location: Hybrid - administratively based from Leeds or Newark hubs Salary: £36,250 - £38,875 (depending on experience) Contract type: Permanent, full-time Travel: Regular travel across England and Wales (approx. 30-35 nights away per year) About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Hydrographic Surveyor to join our fantastic Asset Improvement Team, playing a key role in surveying and managing the Trust''s extensive network of canals, rivers, reservoirs, and docks across England and Wales. You''ll be part of a small, skilled team responsible for collecting, processing, analysing, and presenting spatial information about the waterway environment - vital data that supports dredging, reservoir safety, and engineering projects. Working closely with the Senior Hydrographic Surveyor, you''ll help plan and carry out multibeam and single beam echosounder surveys, process data using industry software, and ensure outputs are accurate and actionable for use across the organisation. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on fieldwork, travelling, and working outdoors, while also contributing to essential environmental and engineering projects.
