We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join a well-regarded secondary school in Leeds as a Head of Year. This is a full-time position, as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be a pivotal figure in the school''s pastoral team, responsible for the academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being of a specific year group. You will lead a dedicated team of form tutors, and your role will involve close collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed.The School

Proven track record of experience in a pastoral role, such as a Year Leader or similar positionIn-depth understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protectionA clear and enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)Eligibility to work in the UKSkills

Leading and managing the year group tutor team.Monitoring and tracking the academic and pastoral progress of all students in the year group.Developing and implementing strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.Managing student behaviour and ensuring adherence to school policies.Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student well-being.Organising and leading year group assemblies and events.Conducting regular meetings with the year team to review progress and share best practices.Providing pastoral support and guidance to students, including those who are vulnerable.Contributing to the school''s overall strategic direction and improvement plan.Ensuring the safety and welfare of all students in the year group.What We Offer:
