Support Worker (Part time)

About the Role: YMCA Reading are looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our dedicated team. In this role, you ll provide practical, emotional, and person-centred support to help our young people (including young parents), aged , gain the confidence and skills they need to move into independent living. What You ll Be Doing: Supporting residents, including 4 young parents, as part of our 40-unit service Delivering tailored, person-centred support that encourages independence and builds self-esteem Creating structured support plans using tools such as Outcome Stars and Risk Assessments Working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to help residents achieve their goals Keeping clear and accurate records using basic IT/admin skills What we re looking for: We d love to hear from you if you are: Empathetic and resilient, with a genuine interest in supporting young people Experienced in working with vulnerable young people and/or young parents Skilled in communication and teamwork Comfortable with basic admin and using a PC (training will be given on our systems) Experienced in Safeguarding Role details: This is a part time position - 20 hours per week Shift pattern: Between 8am 9:30pm, on a rota, including weekend shifts Part-time position with opportunities for learning, development, and career progression Why Join us?
