Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.UK Credit Risk Team’s objective is to define and develop credit risk strategies to drive growth and provide good customer outcomes at acquisition and through the customer lifecycle.The person will be responsible for conducting detailed analysis and implementing new credit risk strategies for UK consumer and small business card portfolios. This person will also focus on tracking and explaining Acquisitions and Portfolio metrics, developing and evaluating new data sources, and working on projects with our business partners.Responsibilities
Generate analytical insights and spot hidden trends from data to react quickly to emerging credit trends across the customer lifecycleEvaluate new data sources and stay abreast of industry trends to build upon existing frameworks and deliver profitable risk strategies as well as better customer outcomesDevelop strong relationships with colleagues from the Central Risk organization, Operations, Product, Acquisitions and Compliance teams to drive enterprise-wide successes for the UK marketMinimum Qualifications
At least 1 year+ experience in risk management or data analytical rolesBachelor’s or equivalent in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics)Coding skills in SQL or Python with hands-on experienceStrong technical and analytical skills with the ability to apply quantitative methods and business knowledge to create insights and deliver resultsKnowledge of underwriting and consumer/commercial bureau dataGood communication and persuasion skills with an ability to translate technical analysis into business strategy recommendations; conceptualize and sell ideas to internal and external partnersAbility to build strong relationships with business partners across the enterpriseProven track record to work independently and within a matrix organization; partnering with capabilities, decision sciences, technology teams and external vendors to deliver solutions quickly and effectivelyResults driven with strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple prioritiesAbility to learn quickly and work independently with complex, unstructured initiativesPreferred Qualifications
Understanding of statistical conceptsKnowledge of UK regulatory landscape for consumer lendingPast experience working on affordability for consumer lending is a plusBenefits
