As a graduate, you will work with the most creative minds in the industry, earning as you learn and building your career as an Actuary.Your role as an Actuarial Graduate in Wealth Solutions: Retirement
As an actuarial graduate, you will work on a range of client teams providing advice and support to trustees or the company sponsoring the scheme. Our aim is to develop you into a trusted advisor quickly, through technical and consulting skills, communication, project management and networking. You will continually improve your commercial awareness and professionalism to grow into a successful actuarial consultant.Responsibilities
Actuarial and Analytical TasksRegular assessment of the financial position of pension schemesIdentify and implement ways to reduce risks for trustees and companies (longevity, investment, inflation)Carry out calculations for the pension scheme for the company’s financial accounts and for individual members’ benefitsEstimate Pension Protection Fund leviesClient Focused TasksDay-to-day management of the pension scheme and internal projectsBuild and manage relationships with clients and other stakeholdersAttend and present at client meetingsProjects may include specialist teams such as:Risk SettlementMember OptionsAnalysis of mortality and demographic trends (Demographic HorizonsTM)Your Development
You will be enrolled on our Launch Programme on joining, built around three core elements:Business learning: on-the-job experiences to develop knowledge of your team and solution lineCentralised learning: induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops to build knowledge, confidence and networkProfessional Qualifications: the role includes expectation to complete a professional qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, with paid study leave and materialsYour career beyond the Graduate programme
After completing the programme, you’ll continue to receive technical and business skills training, pursue actuarial qualifications, and work with your line manager toward promotions (twice a year). You can explore different career paths and specialist teams as listed above.Next Steps
Entry Requirements:On track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in maths, actuarial science, or a highly numerical disciplineA-grade or above in Maths A-level (or Scottish higher or international equivalent)Practical skills in Python, SQL, VBA, or cloud platformsPermanent contracts from day one; right to work in the UK required. EU Settlement Scheme status or ongoing decision process is acceptable.What we’re looking for
