Job Overview: To provide a professional, efficient and effective Stores Delivery Service. To work with the Stores Supervisor and Stores Assistants to deliver a comprehensive Stores Delivery Service. Role and Responsibilities: To drive vehicles up to and including 3 tonnes carrying capacity. To carry out relevant vehicle checks to ensure that the vehicle meets with legislative road To transport materials between the depot, properties and other agreed locations around the Borough To be responsible for ensuing all materials for delivery are secured on the vehicle using the appropriate straps, anchor points and containers. To load and unload materials, ensuring manual handling procedures are adhered to To assist in ensuring that Health and Safety legislation and good practice is complied with. To assist in developing and administering an effective delivery service across Construction Services To organise own workload, ensuring the most cost-effective delivery route is taken To work in a warehouse environment picking materials, unloading deliveries (including heavy bulky items), ordering, storing, stock checking and distributing materials, plant and equipment. To liaise with Operations Staff to plan effectively for the provision of materials, plant and equipment. To maintain good housekeeping, ensuring all rubbish is cleared away and all items are stored correctly ensuring health and safety procedures are followed Requirements: Valid UK Driving Licence Fork Truck Licence Manual
