We are recruiting for an experienced Family Support Worker to work in a residential setting where you will be required to work on a shift rota to include weekends and bank holidays as and when required, over a 40 hour working week. There may be opportunities for overtime.The role is working with families, children and babies and it is essential that you have experience in a similar position to support mothers leaving hospital following childbirth who may have learning needs and have been subjected to domestic abuse etc. You will have a minimum of Level 3 Health and Social Care which is a key criteria for the role and our client will also been to receive applications from newly qualified social workers who have gained such experience via placement.You will be working directly with families, assessing and implementing placement plans, in order to promote, strengthen and to develop parenting skills and to promote the welfare of the child, children or babies at all times. To support the parent with basic baby care skills, personal care and hygiene, nutrition, sleeping, budgeting, safety of the children and discipline. There will be the need to undertake key work sessions as directed by the Case Manager and to develop and maintain good working relationships with parents and other family members and professionals including GPs, HVs and social workers.
