Management Accountant | Rossendale | £40-45K

An established and fast moving, growing multi-entity business within the equipment/plant hire industry is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join its finance team.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified accountant looking to take ownership of monthly reporting, support group finance activities, and gain exposure within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have direct exposure to the senior leadership team. You will play a key part in delivering accurate monthly management accounts across 2-3  group entities, supporting both operational and strategic financial processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Supporting group consolidations and year-end reporting
• Monitoring revenue, utilisation, depreciation and cost recovery
• Managing intercompany reconciliations and recharges
• Supporting VAT returns, CIS reporting and statutory compliance
• Performing month-end reconciliations across key ledgers
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Contributing to process improvement and system enhancements

About You

• Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
• Experience within a group or multi-company finance environment
• Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and VAT
• Confident user of accounting systems (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability
• Close attention to detail with excellent organisational skills

Experience in the industrial sector would be advantageous, as would familiarity with CIS and/or fixed-asset accounting.
