Think Accountancy & Finance are working on behalf of a growing and successful business to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on finance role and wants to be part of a business that is continuing to grow. Reporting into the senior finance team, you''ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the accounts function and support the month-end process through to trial balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
• Bank reconciliations
• Preparing accounts to trial balance
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Matching invoices and delivery notes
• Processing and maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting month-end activities
• Assisting with credit control where required
• Supporting payroll administration (desirable but not essential)
• General bookkeeping and finance administration duties

About You

We''re looking for an individual with previous experience in an all-round bookkeeping or accounts role who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities.

You will ideally have:

• Experience preparing accounts to trial balance
• Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments and journal entries
• Excellent reconciliation skills
• Good systems and Excel knowledge
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• A proactive and organised approach to work
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Payroll experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
