Principal Analyst - Natural Gas

About the Role
As a Principal Analyst, you will be responsible for research and analysis on the natural gas and LNG markets. You will conduct critical research on the European gas markets and model the LNG markets. You will report to the Director of Global Gas Studies within OPIS.About the Team

Establish and maintain a reputation for natural gas and LNG market expertise internally and externally
Ensure consistent global market coverage and analysis and provide neutral and objectively written content including weekly and monthly reports, special topic papers and strategic analyses
Prepare natural gas insights and communications to oil companies, petrochemical producers, and downstream consumers
Support existing services via primary research and analytical studies, including end-use demand modeling, supply/demand balancing, trade flows, pricing, general market dynamics, individual country demand analysis, and econometric modeling
Prepare models, data sets and analytics for activities covering naphtha
Contribute to both short-term and long-term forecasting
Design and prepare of content delivery tools that enhance client experience
Liaise with systems development as it pertains to content, analytical tools, and processes for upcoming services
You Have
6+ years’ experience which include market intelligence and consulting research
Knowledge of the energy value chain and understanding of associated market dynamics
Direct experience operating and manipulating gas market models (including RBAC models)
Experience modeling LNG delivered cost
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, process documentation and business intelligence application skills
Used data visualization applications and conducted data analysis and modelling
Python scripting experience (a plus)
Bachelor''s degree Chemical Engineering or Chemistry (preferred), Business, Finance/Accounting, Information Systems Management, Data Science or relevant discipline -OR- equivalent work experience
