SEN Teaching Assistant

• Location: Barras Heath, Coventry, CV2
• Weekly Pay: -480 - -525
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract: Long-term

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Barras Heath, Coventry. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP, helping to manage communication and behavioural needs, while working towards reintegration into lesson.

This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil
• Supporting a pupil with ASD and SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs)
• Using visual strategies including Now & Next boards & Makaton
• Supporting preverbal gestural language processing
• Managing behavioural needs, including hair pulling incidents
• Working towards reintegration back into phonics groups
• Building positive relationships and promoting engagement in learning

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and SLCN
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Ability to use visual communication strategies effectively
• Experience working within a primary school setting
• Passion for supporting children with additional needs
