A well-established independent school in Central London is seeking a reliable and adaptable Seasonal Grounds Person to join their Grounds team. The successful candidate will support the maintenance and preparation of playing surfaces and surrounding outdoor areas, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the sporting season.This is a hands-on role, working closely with internal staff and external users to ensure outdoor facilities are safe, well-presented, and fit for use.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain sports pitches, playing surfaces, and surrounding grounds to a high standardPrepare and mark sports areas for fixtures and training (including over-marking when required)Assemble, dismantle, and store sports equipmentOperate and maintain grounds machinery and vehicles, including tractors and ride-on equipmentSupport irrigation systems and carry out routine stock checksLiaise with sports staff and external parties regarding pitch and equipment availabilityFollow health and safety procedures at all timesUndertake additional duties in line with the needs of the site during peak periodsEssential:Previous experience in grounds maintenanceEnhanced DBS on the Update ServiceUK driving licenceGood understanding of health and safety requirementsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and problem-solving skillsFlexible and adaptable approach to work
