Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM FM is recruiting a Caretaker to join the team at Blaise High School in Bristol. Working 37 hours per week Monday Friday. Flexible shifts between 6.30am and 8pm. Your mission Under the instruction/guidance of the Site Manager, you will provide porterage, maintenance, waste management and security services on school sites and premises. • Security of the site. • Lock/unlock school buildings and areas. • Key holding. • Setting/un-setting of security systems. • Undertake regular security checks and identify security risks. • Monitor fire safety equipment and carry out and assist authority in carrying out fire drills. • Operate and respond to alarm systems where appropriate. • Liaise with contractors. • Provide emergency access to school site. • Undertake appropriate repairs e.g. minor redecorating and fixing. • Undertake minor/simple repairs e.g. minor plumbing, changing lamps, unblocking drains, replacing finishing s, ironmongery. • Organise and carry out various maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises is satisfactory, as per specific schedule for the site. • Organise and carry out minor decoration and improvement works. • Monitor the BMS system and report any issues. • Participate in a preventative planned maintenance programme
