Bid Writer / Coordinator

OverviewAn established insourcing company is expanding and now require an experienced Bid Writer / Coordinator to join them. In this role you will own the end-to-end bid process from opportunity identification through to submission, acting as the sole dedicated bid professional. The goal is to create compelling, compliant and winning proposals that secure insourcing contracts with NHS Trusts, Health Boards and the HSE in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end bid process from opportunity identification through to submission.
Coordinate contributors, manage timelines, ensure strict compliance and submit via portals (e.g., Atamis, NHS SBS, CCS).
Develop win themes and articulate value propositions for insourcing bids.
Author high quality, persuasive narrative responses and ensure proposals are compliant and compelling.
Engage with senior internal stakeholders (e.g., Clinical leads/Director, Operations Leads, MD) to obtain essential input; manage expectations diplomatically.
Work independently as a self-starter with strong organisation and ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
Understand NHS structure (ICS, Trusts), HSE structure, and the differences of devolved nations (Scotland, Wales).
Fluent in clinical governance, clinical terminology, and drivers behind insourcing (waiting list reduction, internal capacity building).
Maintain awareness of sector, role requirements and regulatory considerations to ensure proposals meet governance and quality standards.
Location flexibility with home-based work; travel to the Birmingham office for meetings when required.
Qualifications and Experience
Sector expertise is essential; proven experience writing winning bids within the UK healthcare sector.
Experience with clinical staffing agencies, insourcing providers, outsourced healthcare providers, or private hospital groups.
Track record of authoring high-quality, persuasive narrative responses and developing win themes.
Strong organisational skills, proactivity, and ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
Ability to chase and secure input from senior internal stakeholders.
LocationYou can be based from home, but able to travel to the Birmingham office for meetings when required.
