Barnardo''s, the UK''s largest Children''s Charity are currently on an exciting and innovative Journey alongside Leicestershire County Council to deliver a range of Children''s homes for the most vulnerable children and young people in Leicestershire.Locations

Where are our homes based? We currently have homes in Hinckley, Coalville, Syston, Mountsorrel, Braunstone and Market Harborough. Some are fully up and running whilst the others are still being mobilised. Each of our beautiful homes will support children and young people aged between 8-18, providing up to 3 service users at any one-time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.Responsibilities

Build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user''s independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.Work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.Lead and support the Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties.Contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.Promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.A bit about you

Hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare OR are you willing to complete this in the required timeframe?Have relevant experience working with children and young people?Have at least 1 year supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting?Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures?Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills?Are flexible to commit to sleep-ins and shift work, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis?Most importantly, do you enjoy the challenges and rewards of working with Children and Young People?How to apply
