The Role

As Head of Mathematics, you will:

• Lead, develop and manage the Mathematics department.
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student attainment.
• Support, mentor and develop teaching staff within the department.
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment and departmental improvement strategies.
• Promote a positive and ambitious learning culture for all students.
• Monitor performance and implement effective interventions to maximise outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who has:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
• Extensive experience teaching Mathematics within a UK secondary school setting.
• Previous leadership experience within a curriculum area or department (Head of Department, Second in Department, Key Stage Lead or similar experience is advantageous).
• A strong understanding of the secondary Mathematics curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• A passion for raising standards and improving student outcomes.
• Access to a car is desirable due to the school''s location.
