Duty and Assessment Social Worker - Bury CouncilLocation: Bury, Greater ManchesterRate: Up to 39 per hour (Umbrella) - depending on experienceHours: 37 hours per week - Full-timeContract Type: Agency / TemporaryOverviewCaritas Recruitment is urgently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join Bury Council''s Duty and Assessment Team.This is a front-line role responsible for managing referrals, conducting assessments, and carrying out statutory duties to safeguard children and families. You''ll work in a fast-paced, high-performing team dealing with new referrals, strategy discussions, and Section 47 enquiries.Please note: Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years'' post-qualification experience in a Duty and Assessment or Front Door team. Applications not meeting this requirement will not be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a Duty and Assessment caseload, responding to new referrals and undertaking assessments in line with statutory requirements.Conduct Section 47 Child Protection enquiries where appropriate.Liaise effectively with multi-agency partners including health, police, and education.Produce clear, evidence-based assessments and care plans.Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.Participate in team meetings, strategy discussions, and case reviews.RequirementsQualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW, CSS, or Social Work Degree).Registered with Social Work England.Minimum of 4 years'' experience working in a Duty and Assessment team (essential).Strong working
