Are you a compassionate, patient, and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)£ A friendly and inclusive primary school in Chesham is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a pupil with additional needs, starting September 2025.
This nurturing school places a strong emphasis on inclusive education, personalised learning, and emotional wellbeing. With the guidance of a supportive SENCO, a collaborative staff team, and a child-centred approach, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a real impact on a childandrsquo;s educational experience.
About the Role:
- Deliver dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, enabling access to the curriculum and progress toward personalised learning targets
- Implement targeted strategies and intervention programmes as directed by the class teacher and SENCO
- Build a supportive and nurturing relationship to encourage the pupilandrsquo;s confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Assist in the development of social skills, communication, and positive behaviour
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent, coordinated, and effective support
The ideal candidate will:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, especially in a 1:1 setting, is preferred but not essential
- Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a solid understanding of inclusive education practices
- Committed to safeguarding, child development, and promoting positive behaviour
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Enthusiastic about ongoing professional growth and reflective practice
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check
