Your primary responsibility will be to manage the end-to-end bid lifecycle and own the delivery of winning bids. You will be a natural coach who thrives on developing people in the bid process and skills required to deliver bids.You’ll also play a key role in driving improvements across our bid function including processes, tools, and content – so we get better every time.The role is highly networked role requiring an ability to manage and motivate a matrix managed team and requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. The role requires excellent organisational, planning, interpersonal and people management skills with strong business acumen and commercial skills. There will be a particular focus on the public sector (e.g. central/local government etc.) and major frameworks such as G-Cloud, DOS, TS, etc.Skilled in analysing requirements and collaborating with subject matter experts, both technical and non-technical, with experience in writing high-quality copy, tailored to the audience.Must have experience working in Tech and Public SectorKey ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the full lifecycle of bids, from opportunity shaping, qualification and win strategy to submission, close and post-bid reviews.Manage complex, multi-disciplinary bid teams to deliver high-quality responses to strict deadlinesEnsure all submissions meet client requirements and internal governance standards.Support internal knowledge sharing and coaching of more junior team membersAbility to identify risks and propose solutions to mitigate.Develop, manage and enforce the plan and process for assigned bids and maintain responsibility for the quality and consistency.Revise schedules, outlines, and compliance matrixes as necessary throughout bid life cycle.Work with Sector Leads to develop, coach and agree win strategy and themes, executive summaries, and validation of our value proposition.Understand customer requirements and translate our capabilities and case studies into compelling responses.Manage assigned opportunities through the Decision gates.Embed a culture of learning and development of the process and skills to develop colleagues.Manage other people’s contributions to submission documents to ensure timely completionParticipation in supplier days and presentationsReview and edit bid responses for consistency, compliance, win theme incorporation, solution accuracy, and other elements during regular and core team review cycles to create the final bid submissionCreate presentations using PowerPoint and coach individuals and teams on presentation best practiceLead the team by bringing ideas for improving the process including protocols for bid development, tracking and monitoring, and recommending opportunities for improvement and efficiency.Qualifications
Essential5+ years in a bid role in technology industryDemonstrable experience and capability in delivering winning bids and frameworksExpert knowledge of bidding best practice techniques, e.g., APMPExcellent English language writing skills, both technical and non-technical, with experience in writing high-quality copy, tailored to the audienceExceptional organisational skills, with an ability to manage a diverse range of tasks, involving different people and different activities to tight deadlinesHighly computer literate across the office softwareConfident communicator both verbally, written and visuallyExpert ability to develop compelling themes, discriminators, and messaging to communicate and support value propositionExcellent people skills and the ability to interface with all levels of managementAbility to create original content using interview and research techniquesStrong commercial understanding, PandL and risk management skills.A proactive self-starter who takes ownership, spots opportunities to improve, and drives change.Comfortable collaborating and challenging across diverse contributorsDesirableAPMP Practitioner or Professional level would be an assetProject management qualification would be an assetAdditional Information
