We''re working with a well-established manufacturing business in Colchester that produces large fabricated and electromechanical components used in national infrastructure projects. As part of their ongoing Continuous Improvement programme, they are looking for a Process Engineer to support a six-month cycle time and efficiency study across multiple production departments. This is a hands-on analytical role focusing on observation and recommendation, not implementation. Key responsibilities:Conduct time and motion studies across machine and assembly operationsCompare system cycle times to demonstrated times on the shop floorBreak down processes into VA (Value Add), NVA (Non-Value Add), and NNVA (Necessary Non-Value Add) categoriesIdentify inefficiencies in fabrication and assembly workflowsProduce clear reports and practical recommendations to support CI initiativesWork closely with the CI team while reporting into the CI Lead Requirements:Previous experience as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Analyst, or similarFamiliarity with fabrication processes such as laser cutting, press braking, and weldingUnderstanding of lean manufacturing principles and cycle time analysisExcellent observational and analytical skillsConfident communicator with strong written reporting ability Benefits:25 days
