We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant for a public sector organisation based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The main purpose of this role will be to provide financial advice to parts of the business including: Preparing, monitoring and controlling revenue budgets Maintain and develop accounting records and systems Provide detailed analysis Assist in the preparation of capital budgets Support with financial advice for business plans and cases Develop accounting processes and procedures To coach and mentor others We are seeking candidates with the following skills and experience: Past accounting experience Preparing / monitoring capital projects and revenue budgets Understanding and application technical guidance and regulations Accounting closedown Providing financial advice Expert MS Excel skills and experience with accounting systems Ideally CCAB Qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) Ideally Public Sector experience. This role will be hybrid based and offering a salary of £44,711 plus many benefits including substantial pensions, generous holiday allowance and flexible working.
