Pertemps are delighted to be working with our public sector organisation to recruit an Accounting Technician on a temporary basis.Role: Accounting TechnicianLocation: Edinburgh City CentreDuration: 6 months, with possible extensionHours: Monday - Friday, 36 hours per weekPay rate: 17.04 / 17.72 per hourStart date: as soon as possibleAs an Accounting Technician, your duties will include but are not limited to:Identify financial issues for implementation which will improve organisational and individual effectiveness.Provide financial advice, in line with policies, procedure and values while minimising any potential risks.Support the implementation of financial management and robust internal controls so that public money is safeguarded and used appropriately and effectively.Ensure that system controls and processes meet legislative business and contractual obligations.Assist in the preparation and content of reports, strategic plans, briefings, presentations and FOIs for meetings, senior officer and stakeholder.Identifying and delivering opportunities for continuous improvement and demonstrate effective management of change within a complex internal and external environment.Assist in a range of projects/areas of work ensuring timely delivery and high standards.You should have a proven track record in a similar role, knowledge and experience of financial systems and experience in supporting delivery of robust systems of risk management and internal control.If you are interested i
