The DDAT department is seeking an

experienced and motivated Junior Data Engineer

to support data flow implementation and system connectivity. The role focuses on re-engineering manual data flows for scalability and automation, especially to support statutory reporting. You will assist Data Engineers in building accessible data for analysis by Data Scientists and Business Analysts. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new, progressive team with ambitious goals. (as of April 2024 pay band figures).Responsibilities include:

Reviewing data quality and integrity to ensure timely, consistent data availability across the organization.

Designing efficient data pipelines and flows, maintaining data quality, and meeting organizational requirements as per the data model.

Collaborating with data science and analytics teams to ensure access to cleansed and formatted datasets for analysis.

Scaling data solutions by reviewing storage needs, optimizing flows, and integrating new technologies.

Supporting data security and compliance, working closely with relevant teams to safeguard data assets and adhere to regulations.

Candidate requirements

The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in computing, with experience in data engineering. Knowledge of data warehousing tools, data encryption, masking, relational and NoSQL databases, and proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and SQL are essential.Additional information
