The service admits patients aged 18 and upwards, delivered by a multidisciplinary team including research staff, providing evidence-based, patient-centred care from admission through discharge to the community. Provide direct patient care with a focus on the individual’s needs, including personal care and adherence to Infection Prevention policies.Maintain ward cleanliness and tidiness; communicate effectively with patients, their relatives and professional colleagues.Work under the supervision and support of a Registered Nurse.Qualifications
Essential: Understanding of patient-centred care and the role of the Health Care Support Worker.Essential: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Trust values.Desirable: Experience in a health or social care setting.Training and Development
Comprehensive training upon joining; mandatory training to support clinical skill development; annual stroke-specific training.Details

Interviews will be held in person at York Hospital.Application process may close early if a high number of applications are received.Must be able to attend a full-time induction programme for the first 4 weeks within 3 months of interview.Due to Home Office guidelines, we do not offer sponsorship for this role.This vacancy is in medical Wards at the YORK site; other departments or locations are listed on the Trust website.Benefits
