Mechanical Engineer

Location:-Port Talbot
Salary:48,00051,000 per year (inclusive of shift premium)

Rhino Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturing company in the Port Talbot area. We are looking for a skilled-Mechanical Engineer-seeking long-term career progression and job stability within a well-established organisation.

Requirements Qualifications:

• Time-served mechanical apprenticeship (essential)
• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
• Counterbalance forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)

Experience:

• Experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment
• Previous experience in a-BRC Certified-workplace (desirable)
• Experience with-machining and welding-(desirable)
• Strong background in-reactive and preventative maintenance
• Proven ability to-diagnose faults-and carry out mechanical repairs

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules
• Respond efficiently to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Diagnose and repair faults on production equipment and machinery
• Ensure all maintenance and repairs are documented accurately
• Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams
• Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency

• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational and workload management abilities
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels
• Attention to detail and ability to work methodically under pressure
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Computer literate with experience using maintenance management systems (desirable)
