A leading FM service provider is seeking a

Fabric Shift Engineer

to join the maintenance team at a well-known commercial building in Lewisham. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering career progression, training, and a competitive salary.

Responsibilities

Carry out general fabric maintenance (e.g., door closers, locks, project works)

Monitor plant systems and BMS

Maintain AHUs and FCUs (filter changes, cleaning)

Perform basic plumbing tasks (e.g., unblocking toilets, replacing taps/washers)

Escort specialist subcontractors

Complete PPM tasks and respond to reactive maintenance requests

Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards (HASAWA)

Maintain accurate records and documentation

Communicate issues to the Shift Lead or Supervisor

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience in fabric maintenance within a commercial environment

Trade or multi-trade background (e.g., carpentry)

Able to provide at least 2 references from the past 5 years

Own safety boots and basic hand tools
