Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Worthing
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive primary school in Worthing that specialises in supporting children with additional needs within a mainstream setting. This is where your patience, creativity and expertise will transform young lives.
About the Role: Working with primary pupils aged 4-11 who have a range of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties, you''ll provide crucial support that helps them access the curriculum and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with identified SEN
- Implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
- Use specialist equipment, communication aids and adaptive technologies
- Support pupils'' social and emotional development through structured activities
- Work closely with SENCo, teachers and external agencies like speech therapists
- Help prepare differentiated resources and create visual learning aids
Job Requirements:
- Solid experience supporting children with SEN in primary educational settings
- Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, learning difficulties and communication needs
- Understanding of Makaton, PECS, visual schedules and other communication strategies
- Calm, patient approach with excellent observation and listening skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and celebrating every small achievement
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
