Overview

Senior Engineering Project Manager role at Amazon. Based in the UK, with the position available in one of our centers in the Manchester, Birmingham or London areas. Relocation support is available.Amazon Logistics is experiencing growth and is looking to hire an experienced, hands-on Project Manager who will own network-wide projects from concept to handover across the network of sites. This includes new site launches, dilapidations and projects critical to the business from an engineering and facilities perspective. Full UK legal and statutory compliance knowledge to ensure all projects meet standards and align with processes and concepts.Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for the Amazon Logistics network, including equipment specifications and Fulfillment Centre layouts.Manage capital projects, including conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment.Provide on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality with MHE vendors/subcontractors.Inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards, following up on snagging lists and warranty work.Lead and coordinate between internal departments and MHE vendors for multiple installation sites.Develop and manage budgets and contract documents including RFPs, change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing.Coordinate with site management to ensure operator training and procedural compliance for new and existing MHE equipment.Create, submit and track Capex documentation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Collaborate with UK Real Estate, IT and Process teams, along with software and Operations Integration teams, to ensure on-time project delivery.Understand operational processes in detail, including the WMS tools used daily.Basic Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline.Strong experience in engineering project/program management with leadership in large-scale, complex projects.Experience in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling/conveyance/packaging systems.In-depth knowledge of standard industry practices.Proven experience in automation.Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project and related software.This role includes travel up to 50%.Preferred Qualifications

Ability to design, specify and layout MHE from manual to automated solutions.Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and/or Toyota Production System.Ability to financially justify and deliver complex solutions to capacity constraints.Ability to switch from a strategic view to a hands-on approach.Ability to lead multi-disciplinary, multi-faceted projects.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
