Empowering Learning are currently working with a wonderful primary school in Hillingdon who are looking for a learning support assistant to work in a reception class. This role will be starting October 2025 on a 1 year contract until July 2026 on a full-time basis, with the view of continuing into the next academic year.

You will be providing a wide range of support to students particularly those with special educational needs, and work alongside the class teacher and SENCo to help students access learning, develop their social and emotional skills and reach their full potential. You will also be tasked to prepare and adapt materials for individual needs, assist with lesson planning, and manage classroom behaviour. You will also be required at times to support individual, and group learning out of the classroom and provide emotional support when needed.

You will need to be patient, empathetic and be able to adapt to situations. You will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

As a teaching assistant for this role, you will have the following:

• Experience supporting children within a school setting
• Early Years experience
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs
• Confident working 1:1 and with small groups of children
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Adaptable, flexible and proactive
