Migration Support Officer

Location: Market Street, RG12 1JD
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 20.00 per day

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage comprehensive needs and risk assessments for families, developing supportive interventions that address identified needs and adapt to changing situations.
  • Promote long-term integration of families in the UK by offering a variety of tailored services and collaborating with other service providers to maximize opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure high standards of service and safeguarding for displaced families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address the language, career, and community integration needs of refugees through one-on-one support or by establishing groups and clubs.
  • Ensure effective delivery of the Council’s statutory duties and agreed integration support to migrants and displaced individuals, coordinating cross-council support for various groups.
Person Specification
  • Highly self-motivated and resilient, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently to achieve positive outcomes through one-on-one intervention and support.
  • Experience in coordinating events for children and families to promote community integration.
  • Creative problem solver who can inspire others with an innovative approach.
  • Effective workload prioritization, ensuring service users are central to decision-making.
  • Familiarity with a range of support strategies to deliver interventions that drive meaningful, positive change.
  • Team player with experience working alongside partners and maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
