Hours: Mon–Thu, 7.30am–4pm | Fri, 7.30am–1pm
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 (DOE)

We’re recruiting a Quality & Compliance Manager on behalf of a growing precision engineering company in Bolton. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional to take the lead in maintaining and improving Quality Assurance and Health & Safety standards, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Quality Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Quality team to ensure product and process compliance.
- Maintain and develop the company’s ISO 9001 Quality and BMS
- Plan, conduct, and document internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001.
- Support external and supplier audits, ensure audit readiness and effective closeout of findings.
- Monitor and drive improvements in quality KPIs including customer complaints, internal non-conformances, and supplier non-conformances.
- Review and approve inspection and test plans, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and product quality.
Key H&S Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop the company’s ISO 9001 Health & Safety & BMS.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits across manufacturing and office environments.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
- Support incident investigations and contribute to corrective/preventive action plans.
- Deliver or coordinate basic H&S training as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Quality Management role within a manufacturing environment (ideally engineering/manufacturing based).
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, with experience in internal auditing.
- Strong understanding of ISO and practical experience conducting risk assessments.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
- Experience leading or supporting external supplier or third-party audits.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, 8D, SPC).
- Strong documentation and process development skills.
- Desire to apply technical advancements and solutions
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).
- Experience with engineering in a manufacturing environment.
