My consultancy client are looking for an experienced Head of Testing who will need to focus on test automation and NFT for a major high street banking client of theirs. This is working on a major payments gateway development so experience within the payments arena is required for this role as they develop a new inhouse payments system. You will be responsible for leading the definition and implementation of a highly efficient test strategy that ensures the bank''s new in house payments solution meets key non-functional aspects of the product, such as performance, stability, and usability in preparation for an industry certification scheme testing window in Autumn 2025. The role combines strategy with hands on work and leadership to align all quality engineering concerns in all environments across 2 labs: Faster Payments Gateway and Instant Payments and you will need to be up-to-date with the latest BDD best practices and techniques ideally with some hands-on experience in Gherkin/BDD/Cucumber scenarios and possibly perform Java step definitions. The role will involve collaborating with engineers, product owners and business analysts to define clear behaviour-driven test scenarios, using Cucumber to write those tests, and ensuring the tests are automated and integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
