Teaching Assistant
Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants to work across mainstream schools, SEN schools, and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). These roles are ideal for passionate, resilient individuals who are committed to supporting young people with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.The RoleAs a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and access to learning. You will play a key role in helping students re-engage with education, build confidence, and develop life and social skills.ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted behaviour and emotional support to pupilsImplement behaviour strategies and support plansSupport learning in and out of the classroomDe-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionallyBuild strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staffWork collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionalsThe Ideal CandidateExperience supporting challenging behaviour and/or SEMH needsBackground in education, youth work, care, psychology, or similar fields (desirable)Calm, patient, resilient, and proactive approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Why Work with Tradewind?Access to a wide range of roles across specialist and mainstream settingsCompetitive pay and weekly payrollFree CPD and training opport
