Forensic Mental Health Specialist

Overview
The CTCCS is a joint NHS and Police Mental Health Team which facilitates information sharing with local mental health services for individuals who have come to the attention of Counter Terrorism Policing and who are thought to either present a risk of serious harm or have safeguarding, welfare or treatment needs in the context of mental disorder.The aim of the team is to work with counter-terrorism officers in assessing and managing the risks posed by individuals with mental disorder through advice, consultation, and detailed formulations.Please note this is a national service and therefore there may be travel to other sites within the service, including overnight stays on occasion.Role and responsibilities
The role will work alongside psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work and police officers. The successful candidate will need to have a significant amount of experience within forensic mental health settings, including custody and/or secure hospital and/or community forensic services, with an understanding of relevant Mental Health and Social Care legislation alongside its application.The role will require security clearance to NPPV3 SC. This is a formal requirement and can take in excess of four months from submitting the application.The post holder will be part of a team of NHS and Counter Terrorism Police staff and will provide high quality liaison, assessment and management plans to the referring agencies. The post holder will be responsible for gathering information on referrals, participating in MDT risk stratification and agreeing an onward pathway and liaising with stakeholders.The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of information governance and Trust and/or any other registration body requirements and values are adhered to at all times.In addition, this is a specialist workplace setting being co-located at all times within policing units and there is a good team working ethic.About NLFT

The post holder must be able to obtain security clearance to NPPV3 SC. A significant amount of experience within forensic mental health settings (custody and/or secure hospital and/or community forensic services) and an understanding of Mental Health and Social Care legislation along with its application are required.Contact
