Quality Engineer

Location: Stourbridge

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 07:00-16:00 (flexibility required)

We are looking for a proactive and driven Quality Engineer to support and enhance our client''s commitment to continuous product quality improvement. This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing/foundry environment, where you will play a key part in maintaining high-quality standards, resolving issues, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

What You''ll Be Doing

In this hands-on role, you will support the delivery of consistent product quality by analysing performance, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

• Analyse and report quality data to identify trends and support improvement activities
• Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, and corrective action tracking
• Manage internal and external quality issues, including rejects, scrap, and customer returns
• Mentor and engage employees to improve quality ownership at all levels
• Support the implementation and maintenance of process controls and quality standards
• Produce and maintain quality documentation such as SOPs and quality alerts
• Conduct inspections and process audits to ensure compliance across operations
• Maintain accurate quality records and communicate performance to stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with production teams to drive a "quality first" culture

What We''re Looking for:

Essential:

• Experience with quality systems, standards, and problem-solving tools
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report data
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to improvement
• IT literate, particularly in Microsoft Office

Desirable:

• Foundry or manufacturing experience (ideally ductile iron)
• Knowledge of Lean and root cause analysis methodologies
• Awareness of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949
