OverviewIt is with a sense of huge excitement and great pride, that we start the search for a Head of School to lead the primary phase of Staffordshire’s first all-through school. Rugeley John Taylor opened in September 2025 welcoming Year 7 students and will open the doors of the primary school in September 2026. The school will have all the hallmarks of success you can expect from a school in the JTMAT family: challenging the most able, outstanding quality of teaching, a taught curriculum of ‘gold standard’ content and skills, and an enrichment offer and pastoral system we believe is second to none.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the primary school from pre-opening to an ‘outstanding’ provider, demonstrating your enthusiasm, vision and leadership qualities. You’ll work with the Executive Headteacher to develop the vision for the school and embed the team ethos.

Ability to set an inclusive and stimulating curriculum that enables pupils to become independent learners
Motivation and drive to set and uphold high standards
Robust understanding of the principles and practices of primary education
Exemplary teaching knowledge and skills
Up to date knowledge of safeguarding requirements
