Events and Groups Manager
to lead and inspire a regional team of event planners across our Scottish hotels. This pivotal role is responsible for driving event sales performance, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering exceptional client experiences across all conference and event spaces.Main Responsibilities:Leadership and Team ManagementResponsible for delivery of both personal and team KPIsLead, coach, and develop a team of on-site conference and events planners across multiple hotel locations.Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Conduct site visits and team meetings to ensure alignment and motivation.Staff motivation, retention, role training and associated team recruitmentSales and Revenue ManagementDrive conference and event revenue across the region, working closely with Head of Groups, Conference and Events, proactive sales teams and revenue managers.Analyse and pre-emption of GCandE revenue risk and gaps, working with Head of GCandE Scotland to develop and implement strategies to address revenue gapsEnsuring the team deliver performance metrics, conversion rates, and pipeline activity to identify growth opportunities.Input to and support the development and execution of regional sales strategies and promotional campaigns.Client Relationship ManagementAct as a senior point of contact for key clients and high-value events, ensuring exceptional service delivery.Oversee the end-to-end planning and execution of complex and/or multi-site events.Ensure consistent service standards and client satisfaction across all properties.Operational ExcellenceEnsure team follow event planning processes and documentation across the region.Ensure compliance with brand standards, health and safety, and legal requirements.Collaborate with key stake holders including hotel operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery.ReportingProvide regular performance reports and insights to senior leadership.Skills and Experience Required:Proven experience in a senior conference and events role within the hospitality industry, ideally across multiple sites and/or large teams.Strong leadership and team development skills.Commercially astute with a track record of achieving revenue targets.
About you:As the ideal candidate, you may be currently managing a busy Event and or Groups team within either hotels, conference centre or agency, with excellent leadership and management skills along with tenacious drive, passion and initiative to lead our recently formed Event and Groups team.You will use your expertise and experience to grow the business profitability by managing, leading and developing the team.Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines. You will have excellent time management, organisational and communication skills. Persuasive and inspiring to your team, you will also have a passion for providing and stimulating excellent customer service and high standards.Strong commercial understanding and evidenced ability of financial forecasting, managing and negotiating contracts.We love to welcome people with different experiences and from different places into our Apex family.
