Environmental Health Enforcement Officer – North London – £27.74 an hour (Umbrella)

A North London Local Authority is seeking an Interim Environmental Health Enforcement Officer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:Undertake inspections, investigations, and compliance checks across a range of environmental health areas.Apply environmental health legislation, enforcement tools, and regulatory frameworks effectively.Carry out air quality and contaminated land duties alongside wider environmental health responsibilities.Analyse data, assess performance, and identify non-compliance or under-performance.Produce clear documentation, reports, and recommendations to support enforcement and service delivery.Experience Required:In-depth knowledge of environmental health legislation, enforcement powers, and their legal basis.Strong background in at least one environmental health specialism.Proven experience in investigations, inspections, data analysis, and compliance monitoring.Ability to work within the context of an English unitary local authority.
