LOCATION: Dudley (office based)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Red Rock is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business based in the heart of the Black Country.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Buyer to support their busy operations team. This is a brand new, stand-alone role- so there is lots of full autonomy and lots of opportunity to make the role your own!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source and purchase materials, products, and services required for engineering operations
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships
• Negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure value for money
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality standards are met
• Keep accurate inventory and procurement records
• Work with internal departments to manage stock levels and delivery schedules
• Track market trends and implement cost-saving strategies
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures

THE CANDIDATE:

• Background in procurement or purchasing within the commercial engineering sector
• Able to read and interpret engineering/technical drawings
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with SAGE systems
• GCSEs or equivalent qualification
• Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive
