An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in the London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking to appoint an inspiring and experienced Head of Humanities to lead a dynamic department from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator with strong leadership skills to shape and develop the Humanities curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5), driving excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes.

The Role
As Head of Humanities, you will:
- Lead and manage the Humanities department (e.g. History, Geography, Religious Education)
- Develop and implement a high-quality, engaging curriculum
- Monitor and raise standards of teaching and learning across the department
- Support, coach, and develop team members
- Use data effectively to track progress and drive achievement
- Contribute to whole-school improvement strategies
The Ideal Candidate

- Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a specialism in a Humanities subject
- Has proven leadership experience or is ready to take the next step in their career
- Is committed to raising attainment and delivering inclusive education
- Demonstrates strong organisational and communication skills
