Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Year 1) - Personal Care SupportLocation: NG18Contract Type: Full-time, TemporaryStart Date: Sept 2025We are supporting a Primary Academy that are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the Year 1 team, with a specific focus on providing personal care and tailored support to individual pupils with special needs. Key Responsibilities:Provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher to ensure all children can access the curriculum.Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions as required.Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, changing, and hygiene support, in a respectful and dignified manner.Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.Monitor and report on pupil progress and welfare to the class teacher and SENCO.Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.The ideal candidate will:Have experience working with young children, preferably in a school setting.Be confident in providing personal care with sensitivity and discretion.Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.Show patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to behaviour and learning support.Hold a relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
