Fire Safety Assessor

This is a remote role. You can be based anywhere in the country.
Job Title: Assessor/Marker (Multiple roles available)
Summary: Assess/mark evidence from courses and workplace activities to appropriate standards.
Place of work: Home address, requirement to periodically attend head office.
Arrangements: Full time employee; part-time options will be considered.
Hours and arrangements to be agreed.
Introduction: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident, enthusiastic and committed individuals with a keen eye for detail. You will be part of our client’s expert team, providing fire safety courses and qualifications.
We are seeking a full time/Part time assessor/marker to support the Assessment centre team in the development and delivery of our assessment activities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Assess course work, workplace activities and RPL evidence to appropriate standards.
- Provide constructive feedback to individuals.
- Complete records accurately and in line with organisational policy/procedures.
- Operate in accordance with policies and procedures of Assessment Centre and Awarding Bodies.
- Collaborate with management team, internal verifiers, external verifiers, assessment centre staff, tutors and other assessors.
- Attend and contribute at development and standardisation meetings/activities.
- Develop and maintain competence commensurate with level of qualifications being marked/assessed. Maintain and provide an up-to-date CPD record upon request.
- Uphold and promote safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development, advancement and promotion of the company.
- In addition to above, any other reasonable activity necessary to ensure smooth-running of Company.
Quals and experience:
Our client are a leading provider of Level 2, 3, 4 and 5 fire safety courses and qualifications. Their core customers are drawn from the Fire Service, Building Control, fire risk assessors and the sprinkler sector:
You must have:
- Practical experience in fire safety sector (Minimum 3-5 years).
- Competence, and experience relevant to assessing areas e.g. DCLG FRA guides, ADB, BS 9999 etc.
- Fire safety qualification or working towards e.g. Level 4 Diploma in fire safety or equivalent fire safety/fire risk assessment qualification.
- For level 5 marking a minimum of level 5 diploma in Fire Engineering Design; ideally a Fire Engineering degree.
- An assessing qualification or working towards - CAVA *. (qualification development may be offered for the right candidate)*
- Membership of relevant professional body (preferable) e.g. IFE, IFSM etc.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Team orientated and flexible approach
- Professional attitude
- Competent in use of Microsoft Office products
- Proactive work ethic.
- Able to work independently with confidence.
- Evidence and awareness of learning styles, reasonable adjustments and additional need support.
- Understand responsibilities to Safeguarding and creating a safe working environment for all.
- Clean DBS checks (up to enhanced) may be required for the role.
