Pay rate: £40.16 per hour PAYE

Role length: Anticipated 4 months

Working Arrangement: Office attendance 2 days per week for the first two months

Additional requirements: Ability to be able to travel to attend client offices or courts

The role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to join the team.

You will have external lawyers’ management skills, education and academy experience for land dealings including foundations schools including development experience for the same.

You will have large scale housing stock transfer experience and estate ballot experience, and you will be able to deal with lease and licence work across the 5 borough shared services with the exception of routine residential matters.

Qualified solicitor or barrister or chartered legal executive or equivalent legal experience with a background in local governmentExternal lawyers’ management skillsEducation and academy experience for land dealings including foundations schoolsLarge scale housing stock transfer experienceEstate ballot experienceLease and licence work experienceGood knowledge of relevant legislation to the service area and the decision-making processes and proceduresGood understanding of current issues and best practice on service delivery relevant to the service areasGood and demonstrable analytical legal skillsExperience of staff management and ability to manage, inspire and motivate staffCommitment to the principles of and development of the Shared Legal ServiceAbility to contribute to the ongoing development of the Shared Legal ServiceGood communication skills, both orally and in writing and good numeracy and analytical skillsDemonstrable experience of working on a continuous basis with a single local authority for a minimum of 18 months
